The 'Dorimdong Education Center' recently announced on its homepage that 'Jose Maria Villalon, the team doctor and medical director of Spanish football club Atletico Madrid, visited Korea to conduct a medical check on national team player Lee Kang-in.' Villalon has been Atletico Madrid's medical director for over 30 years since July 1995. He personally traveled to Korea to conduct Lee Kang-in's medical check after the 2026 North and Central America World Cup.

French media 'RMC Sports' reported that 'Lee Kang-in, who spent three seasons at PSG, will leave the Paris club. PSG and Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement on his transfer.' According to the media, PSG and Atletico Madrid agreed on a transfer fee exceeding 40 million euros (approximately 70 billion won). Football transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano also reported that 'personal terms have been agreed and only official procedures remain.'
