The South Korea national football team has begun preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Hong Myung-bo's team is training hard in Mexico ahead of their first match against the Czech Republic on June 12. The Korea Football Association plans to hold public viewing events and fan festivals in Gwanghwamun. Street cheering events are scheduled to take place in Gwanghwamun Square on June 12, 19, and 25. The events, operated in partnership with official sponsor KT, will include a pop-up exhibition showcasing the history and pride of Korean football. Hong Myung-bo said 'we know that our team's final training block is crucial for this tournament'. 'We have about four days of training available, and the sessions on the 7th, 8th and 9th are the most important. These sessions will allow us to test combinations that fit our football model as we prepare for the first group-stage match'
