Renard's connection to South Korea
Renard was previously linked to the South Korea job after Jurgen Klinsmann's dismissal in 2024. At the time, discussions with the Korean Football Association took place but did not result in a contract. Renard has a strong track record in African football, leading Zambia to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations title and Ivory Coast to victory in 2015. He is known for his ability to quickly transform team dynamics.
Failure in Tunisia
Renard took over Tunisia and suffered a 0-4 loss to Japan, leading to their elimination from the World Cup group stage. They also lost 1-3 to the Netherlands in their final match, prompting Renard's resignation after just 18 days in charge. Renard is also being considered for managerial positions in South Africa and Senegal. In South Africa, he is the top candidate to replace Hugo Broos, while in Senegal, his name continues to be mentioned.
